FAT TUESDAY February 5 2008
Robben Ford…. Mardi Gras.
Mardi Gras....How to explain the world's biggest party? If you’re from
New Orleans it's just the way things are, it’s in your bones and you can't imagine anything else. But, if you're from Modesto CA. you might need some explanation and guidance, unless you’ve been to one of Tresetti’s Fat Tuesday parties.
To begin, Mardi Gras is French for Fat Tuesday. It is always celebrated the day before Ash Wednesday so the date changes every year. In 2008 it's on February 5th. The day after is called Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent, and for Catholics that means sacrifice. As a result, Mardi Gras is a last bash before Lent. Just imagine, down in
New Orleans it takes up to two months of parades and parties to get the party mood out of their system before the penitential season of Lent begins. Those people definitely know how to party! We try to bring a little of that New Orleans Flair right here in downtown
Modesto !
This year we are Proud to announce one of the greatest blues guitarists in the world will be playing at our event, Robben Ford. If you’ve ever heard this guy play you won’t want to miss this opportunity to see him up close on the street right in front of Tresetti’s World Caffe. Visit Robben's web site at robbenford.com
V.I.P. tickets go on sale Tuesday or Wednesday this week. These tickets sell out every year so don’t be left out in the cold!
