1996 Jim Barry, The Armagh, Clair Valley Shiraz
Saturated ruby-purple. Knockout nose of cassis, blackberry, grilled meat, soy sauce, minerals and eucalyptus. Powerful, dense and smooth in the mouth, but bright acidity keeps the sweet, thick fruit from being heavy. Game and bacon fat flavors. Solidly structured wine with impressive extract. Finishes with very long, slow-building berry and game flavors.
1989 Chateau d'Yquem, Lur-Saluces, Sauternes
The wine is extremely alcoholic and rich, with a huge nose of smoky, honey-covered coconuts and overripe pineapples and apricots.

2001 d'Arenburg McLaren Vale, d'Arry's Original, Shiraz Grenache,Wine of Australia
Saturated Fragrant Grenache20notes of violets, ripe red fruits, spice, licorice and mulberry characters are apparent immediately, while and earthy potpourri notes develop as the wine opens up. The medium-bodied palate is fleshy with a concentrated array of red berries, dark sweet plums, strawberries and spice. This wine is perfectly balanced with fruit weight, tannins and acidity.
1962 Vega-Sicilia, Ribera Del Duero
Red fruits like strawberries and cherries can predominate - but with a rustic edge. Many wines made from Tempranillo will spend a few years in barrel and bottle before reaching the consumer. Many Tempranillo-based wines see a few years of oak - add that to a few years of bottle and the wine can give a subtle - and occasionaly not-so-subtle - leathery mouthfeel. The combination of the tart fruit and tannins make this wine very food friendly.
1990 Chateau d'Yquem, Lur-Saluces, Sauternes
The wines are intensly concentrated and sweet with high levels of acidity to balance out the sweetness. While the wines are delicious when young, the true nature of the wines of d'Yquem are only shown when the wines have decades of bottle age. These wines become complex, luscious and honeyed after 15 to 20 years and can last for a century or longer if properly stored.

1996 Tinto Pesquera, Millenium, Ribera Del Duero
This inky red is plush and mouthfilling, with an amazing concentration of plum, boysenberry, chocolate and licorice flavors over muscular yet graceful tannins. It’s thoroughly modern in style, yet remains deeply rooted in its terroir.

2004 Stag's Leap, The Leap, Napa Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon, Estate Grown
Elegant, dried herb aromatics, leading into ripe flavors of black fruits: blackberry, plum and cassis. That briary character, a Stags' Leap signature, is in evidence, as are notes of rhubarb, black pepper and licorice. A structure of finely grained tannin is the last major component here, binding the ripe, mature flavors
1999 Greenock Creek Vineyard and Cellars, Roennfeldt Road, Shiraz, Barossa Valley, South Australia
Made from vines less than 20 years old, and aged in American Oak, this substantial Shiraz boasts an opaque purple color along with a sweet nose of melted licorice intermixed with blackberry jam, pepper, white flowers, and a hint of toast. With layers of gorgeous fruit, voluptuousness, density, and purity.

1995 La Romanee-Conti, Grand Cru
This is more elegant still but equally restrained as the almost discreet nose runs toward the plum and blue berry side of the fruit spectrum. The floral-infused, structured and very serious flavors culminate in a youthfully austere finish offering huge depth and length.

Intense fruit, bright acid and sturdy tannins promise resilience and longevity

Modernity and audacity blended together with an emphasis on quality and expertise that are second to none. The Veuve Clicquot style, with Pinot Noir in the ascendent, is eminently suited to this vintage; the result is poised, powerful and harmoniously balanced.

1995 Luce, Montalcino, Toscana
World class Italian wine. Luce was the first wine ever produced in Montalcino by blending Sangiovese and Merlot grapes. A brilliant but ultra-dense ruby, to the nose releases an almost explosive complex of fragrances: initially aromas of ripe fruit, dried plum, and wild blackberry, which then yield to a mix of spices, melding into floral impressions of sweet violets
